"This magnificent wine opens with enticing aromas of ripe wild berries, blue flowers, new leather, and baking spices. On the palate, it is elegantly structured and flavorful, with firm, polished tannins accompanying notes of raspberry compote, ripe Marasca cherries, star anise, and crushed rosemary. This wine is already superbly presented, but it will also offer years of enjoyment. Drink between 2023 and 2029.” (Wine Enthusiast 2022)

About the wine:
Alessandro Mori’s 2017 Brunello di Montalcino Il Marroneto opens with a very distinguished and unique character that makes this wine easily recognizable within a range of Brunellos. This hot, dry growing season has generally resulted in more powerful aromas and, at times, riper flavors across the appellation. But this magically slender wine follows its own path, and the summer heat seems to have cemented almost exotic aromas of bay leaf, crushed flowers, campfire ash, and iron ore. The wine is extremely silky and elegant, but instead of opulence, you get a refined tension accompanied by exalted and immediate aromas of fruit, flowers, and light spices.
