“A truly Mediterranean spirit that proudly embraces its entirely Italian identity, according to The Wine Advocate!”
“The Castello di Ama 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo is one of the most distinctive wines in this estate’s extensive portfolio. I always seem to detect a balsamic note in the San Lorenzo Sangiovese (a blend of some of the estate’s finest fruit, with a touch of Merlot and Malvasia Nera), and it comes through clearly in this vintage with notes of toasted rosemary and even a hint of black olive. This wine is truly Mediterranean in spirit and boasts a wholly Italian identity. Its supple, medium-bodied texture is enhanced by elegant fruit and spices. Its fresh acidity makes it the perfect partner for your favorite Tuscan pasta or pici dishes. 2023–2038” (Wine Advocate 2021)

About the wine:
A dense, polished red with a beautiful texture of firm, polished yet well-integrated tannins. It is full-bodied and displays many subtle notes of black fruit and chocolate. There are also hints of nuts. A savory finish. A bit tight at the end, but already truly delicious. A serious young Gran Selezione. Drink now or cellar.
