“What elegance and energy!”

“The entry-level Il Marroneto 2020 Rosso di Montalcino Ignaccio already gives you a sense of the winery’s style. This wine is lively and vibrant, with aromas of red cherry, lilac, and a hint of white pepper. It is aged in large oak barrels for 22 months. Honestly, I’d rather drink this Rosso than many of the Brunellos in this catalog that cost three times as much. It finishes with easy, sweet fruit flavors.” (Wine Advocate 2023)

About the wine:

The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino Ignaccio bursts from the glass with a lively, vibrant blend of spicy cherries, exotic red flowers, and cinnamon sugar. Though supremely elegant, it exudes an energy that stimulates the palate, with ripe berries and a hint of crushed violet candies. The 2020 maintains an astonishing balance, finishing with liveliness and incredible freshness, with a hint of hard candy and lavender lingering on the palate. It is remarkable how Il Marroneto is able to produce, year after year, a Rosso that is so fruity and harmonious. 2023–2026

About the wine:

A lively wine to enjoy, with aromas of cherry and orchid that carry through to a medium-bodied palate, featuring very fine tannins and a fresh, lively finish. This is a well-balanced and refined Brunello. It’s perfect to drink now, but it has the potential to improve with age. Drink now or cellar.
