Rating: RVF 16/20
Produced from a very small plot of century-old vines planted on blue clay soil, this wine now expresses itself with great finesse. Supple on the palate with a lingering finish, it is the perfect accompaniment to sweetbreads and mature cheeses.

Rated estate (2012 guide) 3 stars (Very good production)

About the estate:

"The Poulsard vineyard planted in 1876 by their great-grandfather, Albert, is still in operation. Today, Alain and Josie Labet work with two of their children (Domaine Labet), while Julien (Julien Labet Vignerons) cultivates 3 hectares on his own, including 1.7 hectares of vines over 60 years old. Yields are controlled, the soil is worked, and fertilizers and insecticides are prohibited. In the cellar, Julien is committed to producing single-vineyard wines.

Rated estate (2012 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Julien Labet is indeed the son of Alain, from Domaine Labet. After starting out alongside his father, Julien began with 3 hectares in 2003. The two estates are quite distinct, and Julien recently opted to convert the estate to organic farming. All the wines are vinified using indigenous yeasts and oak barrels. We are impressed by the style and length on the palate of the wines presented. The estate, which is now quite legitimately differentiated, offers wines that are consistently good and very sincere in their expression."
