Presentation of the vintage: A few years ago, Le Clos du Prieur gave the Orliac clan the opportunity to exercise their talents 25km from the Hortus estate, in the heart of the Buèges valley. A 10-hectare enclave where Syrah and Grenache thrive, producing this traditionally vinified red wine. A wine that immediately seduces with its floral and powerful notes, its complex personality combining iris, laurel, blackcurrant, and wild berries, and its long and original almond finish. A supple and full-bodied wine to be enjoyed without delay!

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
With one foot on Pic Saint-Loup and the other on the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation and the IGP, the Orliac family owns 80 hectares of vineyards in the garrigue, in the heart of the Hérault region. Jean intelligently oversees the estate's destiny despite the bereavements that have affected the family. With several ranges of wine spread across this wide palette of terroirs (Bergerie de l'Hortus, Clos du Prieur), the Orliac family strives to produce wines of great precision, particularly the fine and elegant reds. The style of the wines is evolving with an expensive cuvée, Le Dit de l'Hortus, which remains in line with the estate's tradition, while the other cuvées are evolving towards greater lightness so that they can be enjoyed sooner.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the estate:
Between Pic Saint-Loup and Causse de l'Hortus, in the Combe de Fambetou, this renowned estate covers 85 hectares of varied terroirs. Starting in 1978, Jean and Marie-Thérèse Orliac cleared the scrubland, restored the terraces, built a winery and a house, and then brought their children to live with them.

The beautiful Languedoc region is generous. It's a shame that prices keep rising regardless of the quality of the vintage.
