Domaine de l'Hortus
Domaine de l'Hortus, at the crossroads of the Pic Saint-Loup and Mont de l'Hortus mountains, is located high in the hinterland of Montpellier, in the Languedoc region. For over 25 years, Domaine de l'Hortus has been the pride of the Orliac family, led by Marie-Thérèse and Jean, who have turned it into one of the emblematic estates of the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation, making a good part of Pic Saint-Loup's reputation in the process.

The Orliac family runs the vineyards of Domaine de l'Hortus, 50 hectares of limestone scree where Syrah, Mourvèdre and Grenache (for the reds), Chardonnay, Viognier and Roussanne (for the whites) express themselves magnificently in an ideal north-east orientation, and Clos du Prieur, a 10-hectare enclave in the heart of the Buèges valley. L'Hortus is a living estate, deeply rooted in its terroir and in its time, for the most part favoring traditional harvesting and vinification methods, with respect for nature, wine and people.
