Domaine de l'Hortus

Domaine de l'Hortus, at the junction of Pic Saint-Loup and Mont de l’Hortus, is situated on the heights of the Montpellier hinterland, in the Languedoc region. For more than 25 years, Domaine de l’Hortus has been the pride of the Orliac family—led by Marie-Thérèse and Jean—who have succeeded in making it one of the iconic estates of the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation, while also contributing significantly to the reputation of Pic Saint-Loup.

The Orliac family manages the vineyards of Domaine de l’Hortus, 50 hectares of limestone scree where Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Grenache (for the reds) Chardonnay, Viognier, and Roussanne (for the whites) in an ideal northeast-facing location, as well as the Clos du Prieur, a 10-hectare enclave in the heart of the Buèges Valley.Hortus is a vibrant estate, deeply rooted in its terroir and in its time, largely favoring traditional harvesting and winemaking methods, while respecting nature, the wine, and people.
