Hortus Estate
Domaine de l'Hortus, nestled at the junction of Pic Saint-Loup and Mont de l'Hortus, is situated in the hills of the Montpellier hinterland, in the Languedoc region. For over 25 years, Domaine de l'Hortus has been the pride of the Orliac family, led by Marie-Thérèse and Jean, who have made it one of the iconic estates of the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation, contributing significantly to the reputation of Pic Saint-Loup in the process.

The Orliac family manages the vineyards of Domaine de l'Hortus, 50 hectares of limestone scree where Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Grenache (for the reds), Chardonnay, Viognier, and Roussanne (for the whites) in an ideal northeast-facing orientation, and the Clos du Prieur, a 10-hectare enclave in the heart of the Buèges Valley.Hortus is a vibrant estate, deeply rooted in its terroir and in its time, largely favoring traditional harvesting and winemaking methods, with respect for nature, the wine, and people.
