About the estate:
The children of Alsatian winemakers, Mireille and Pierre Mann worked in the restaurant business before becoming winemakers in 2005. Their first bottles were released in 2009, and they quickly found success. Today, they cultivate 16 hectares using biodynamic methods on the limestone plateau of Leucate and the schist-rich foothills of the Corbières.

Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Former restaurant owners in Alsace, Pierre and Mireille Mann gave in to an irresistible urge to become winemakers, settling in 2005 in the coastal area of the Fitou appellation. After three years at a cooperative winery—the time it took to convert the vineyard to organic farming—they began producing Mas des Caprices in 2009. The vineyard is located on the Leucate plateau, at the edge of cliffs overlooking the sea, in a magnificent and unspoiled setting. Striking a harmonious balance between easy-drinking wines and more ambitious ones, the wines showcase local grape varieties (Carignan and Grenache Gris), combining ripeness with fresh fruit. This is a particularly cohesive range, where a free-spirited character is combined with precise flavors.

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 11/29/2025
With its light, infused style, this Fitou—characterized by restrained power and an almost salty minerality—charms with its very fine, delicate texture, featuring firm yet velvety tannins and subtle hints of red and black fruits intertwined with blood orange and smoky notes. Its slightly wild character makes it ideal for grilled spicy meats or a duck parmentier. Rating = 4.
