"Excellent value for a well-balanced, easy-to-drink wine"
“10% Syrah complements the Bordeaux grape varieties in this young red, fresh from the barrels. This lends a subtle smoky note that adds a touch of complexity to the nose, which is infused with blackberry, blueberry, and violet. Very supple tannins support a full-bodied, round, and fragrant palate that also manages to stay fresh. In short, this lively wine offers fruit and balance and will pair beautifully with a grilled beef steak.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026).

About the wine:
This young red, fresh from the barrels, features 10% Syrah blended with Bordeaux grape varieties. This gives it a subtle smoky note that adds a touch of complexity to the nose, which is infused with blackberry, blueberry, and violet. Very supple tannins support a full-bodied, round, and fragrant palate that also manages to stay fresh. In short, this lively wine offers fruit and balance and will pair beautifully with a thick cut of grilled beef.
About the estate:
Located 5 km from Carcassonne on the banks of the Canal du Midi, this is one of the oldest wine estates in the Malepère region, with origins dating back to the 13th century and the Roger Cahuzac de Caux family, and the vineyard to the 16th century. Acquired in 1871 by the ancestors of the current owners—a long-established local family—the estate experienced its first period of growth around 1900. Its recent revival is linked to the renovation of the cellar in 2015 by the Boyer family, who took over the estate (70 ha, including 55 ha of vineyards).
