Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
In Puissalicon, a pretty little feudal village between the sea and the mountains, the original wines of the Domaine des Capriers are produced. The estate stretches from north to south along the Libron River. This gives it a wide variety of terroirs, from the Villafranchian terraces in the north to the gravelly pink marl in the south, passing through the limestone sandstone puechs. Marion and Mathieu Vergnes, a young brother and sister team of winemakers who love this terroir, have taken over the family estate and produce high-quality wines: Les Larmes d'Emma red, a characterful benchmark cuvée; Le Rêve de Louis red, a delicious and easy-to-drink wine; the new Octave cuvée, with great potential; and Les Larmes d'Emma rosé, an aromatic and crystalline wine. The two whites, Larmes d'Emma (100% Viognier) and Rêve de Louis, are very aromatic, well-defined, lively, and balanced.
