Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
"Les Creisses" refers to the pebbles. Philippe Chesnelong took over this family estate in 1990. He is assisted by his cousin, Louis Mitjaville, whose reputation extends far beyond Saint-Émilion. The "Les-Brunes" cuvée generally emphasizes power, while the "Des Creisses" cuvée, which is more approachable, bursts with flavor. A truly excellent choice.

Review by Mr. Gilles D. Published on December 16, 2024
An exceptional value for a particularly sought-after IGP from the Languedoc. A masterful blend of red and black fruit flavors, intertwined with spices and scents of the garrigue, with smoky notes in the background and a delicate hint of cocoa, all harmoniously blending into a tannic structure that combines elegance and balance. This exceptional blend, enhanced by a subtle hint of acidity, offers a savory juice and subtle freshness, with an ultra-silky texture that delivers a lovely sensation of smoothness. To conclude, an extra touch of spice pushes the flavors a bit further and boosts the aromatic persistence. With its Mediterranean character and a touch of the Médoc, this superb cuvée perfectly complemented a mallard stuffed with foie gras and small winter vegetables roasted in the juices. Rating = 4.7.
