(2012 Vintage Notes)

Powerful and complex, this fine wine offers a bouquet of citrus and flinty aromas, combined with smoky notes. On the palate, flavors of candied fruit and toasted hazelnuts emerge, supported by a rich, full-bodied texture that leads to a fresh and very lingering finish. Very charming!

Rated wine (2015 guide) 15/20 (2012 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2024 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

After completing advanced studies in biogenetics, ampelography, and oenology, Cyril Bourgne began his career in Bordeaux (Château de Fieuzal) before embarking, alongside his wife Nadia, on a more personal winemaking venture in the Languedoc. The vineyard is meticulously tended, allowing for the extraction of complex and refined flavors during winemaking, which is now carried out in the new cellar nestled within the Saint-Chinian landscape. The precision of barrel aging, applied to the Grand Vin cuvée—dominated by Syrah and Mourvèdre—aims to redefine the contemporary expression of Saint-Chinian.
