“Fruity notes accented by garrigue aromas in this silky red with a fresh finish.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins 2021 - RVF) The addition of Mourvèdre and Grenache from Mas de l'Olivier, blended with Syrah, has made it possible to create a new, innovative cuvée, aged in demi-muids and Dolia barrels. A fresh, spicy, mineral nose with aromas of red fruit, black pepper, and graphite notes leads to an elegant palate with silky tannins. Don’t miss it!

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

This 35-hectare estate in Montagnac is known for its Picpoul de Pinet. Yves and his daughter Anaïs run it using biodynamic methods and are experimenting with new containers, including terracotta, ceramic, and stoneware dolias. Don’t miss Bréchallune, a Picpoul aged slowly on its lees that deviates from the appellation’s classic style, or Le Chant des Dolia, a stunning Languedoc that far exceeds the standard of this regional appellation.

Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Originally focused on melon cultivation and supplying grapes to a cooperative winery, the estate took a major turn in 2004 with the creation of its own winemaking facility. In 2009, Anaïs Ricôme joined her father Yves at the helm of a 35-hectare organic vineyard, launched a new wine line, and expanded sales.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 91/100

Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

This silky red wine features fruity notes accented by aromas of garrigue and a fresh finish.

About the estate:

Anaïs Ricôme is the leading name in Picpoul de Pinet, producing wines of great purity from this beautiful clay-limestone terroir. The appellation is home to some of the Languedoc’s finest white wines, characterized by the influence of the sea breezes—clean and briny—and made from the Picpoul grape variety. After studying viticulture and oenology and gaining experience at a New Zealand vineyard, her father, Yves, offered her the opportunity to take over this estate near Marseillan. Shortly after settling in, she made some drastic decisions: reducing the vineyard’s size to better control quality, converting the estate to organic farming, and adopting certain biodynamic practices. Aging is very light, with a focus on stainless steel, stoneware, and old oak casks. The result is brilliant, expressive, and energetic wines of great precision. Quality is once again the hallmark.

Actually, a 4. But I’d like to bump this wine’s rating up a notch. It’s like fruit juice, with a juicy, pleasant texture on the palate. The tannins are very supple. A wine with great texture that’s a pleasure to drink. I really enjoyed it.
