Clos du Causse - Minervois La Livinière 2017
2*Étoiles
Hachette
The young Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre vines (15 years old) have produced a wine that is more elegant than powerful, with a delicious nose of fresh black fruits, candy, and dried herbs. Full-bodied on the attack and invigorating, the palate, perfectly softened by long aging in vats (24 months), delivers unreservedly a very pleasant, delicious fruitiness that is ready to drink now." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021). A success with great potential!

About the estate:

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 09/26/2021
An excellent 2017 vintage, this Minervois is warm, smooth, and deep, with juicy flesh and a tender, voluptuous texture, enveloped by crisp red fruits. Beautiful aging brings a subtle hint of cocoa vanilla. Silky tannins. Long peppery and licorice finish, enhanced by beautiful spices. Round and refined, this Minervois from La Combe Blanche, just as powerful but fruitier than La Galine, paired perfectly at 18°C with roast pork and prunes. A score of 4.1 for this very attractive cuvée that respects the terroir and is competitively priced on the market.
