About the estate:

Guy Vanlancker, head of Domaine Combe Blanche, seized the opportunity to lease 1.5 hectares of young vineyards surrounded by the Causse plateau, located in the town of Félines, in Minervois-la-Livinière. The estate has been in the process of converting to organic farming since 2018.

From an excellent 2017 vintage, this Minervois is warm, smooth, and deep, with juicy flesh and a tender, voluptuous texture, enveloped by crisp red fruits. Beautiful aging lends a subtle hint of vanilla and cocoa. Silky tannins. A long, peppery finish with notes of licorice, enhanced by lovely spices. With its roundness and finesse, this Minervois from La Combe Blanche—just as powerful but fruitier than La Galine—paired perfectly at 18° with a roast pork with prunes. A score of 4.1 for this lovely cuvée that honors its terroir and offers one of the most competitive prices on the market.
