“A lively 100% Piquepoul offering superb value for money—you’re in for a treat!”

This traditional method, with its subtle and delicate bouquet, is characterized by aromas of fresh white-fleshed fruits and dried fruits. The palate is soft and fresh, giving way to notes of lightly toasted hazelnuts, followed by the delicate bitterness characteristic of Piquepoul.

Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Founded in 1922, L'Ormarine—formerly the Association of White Wine Producers of Pinet—is a key player in promoting the Picpoul-de-Pinet appellation. Following mergers with the cellars of Villeveyrac (2009) and Cournonterral (2014), and then in 2017 with the cellars of Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort and Vias, it now comprises 500 members and owns 2,500 hectares, 520 of which are dedicated solely to the Picpoul grape variety.

Review by Mr. FREDERIC B. Posted on January 28, 2025

A very, very fine effervescence, almost imperceptible; this likely explains why the tasting notes recommend decanting it. The nose is subtle.
