"A lively 100% Piquepoul with superb value for the price—let it surprise you!"

This traditional method, with its subtle and delicate bouquet, is characterized by aromas of fresh white-fleshed fruits and dried fruits. The attack is soft and fresh, then notes of lightly roasted hazelnuts develop, followed by a delicate bitterness characteristic of Piquepoul.

Rated Estate (2025 Guide) Award-Winning Wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)

About the estate:

Founded in 1922, L'Ormarine—formerly the Association of White Wine Producers of Pinet—is a major player in the promotion of the Picpoul-de-Pinet appellation. Following mergers with the Villeveyrac (2009) and Cournonterral (2014) wineries, and then with the Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort and Vias wineries in 2017, it now comprises 500 cooperative members and manages 2,500 hectares, 520 of which are dedicated solely to the Picpoul grape variety.

Review by Mr. FREDERIC B. Published on January 28, 2025

Very, very fine bubbles, almost nonexistent; this likely explains why the tasting notes recommend decanting it. The nose is subtle.
