A 70-30 blend of Syrah and Grenache, the Syrah is aged in small new oak barrels and the Grenache in small casks. Château Lavabre's 2018 Pic Saint Loup has ripe, exuberant aromas of plum and black cherry, supported by notes of baking spices and crushed stone. These same aromas support a full-bodied palate, adding a little depth to the waves of ripe fruit. Ripe, supple tannins provide the necessary structure. This delicious and easily accessible wine will not need any real cellaring time after release." (Wine Advocate - Joe Czerwinski)

Revised rating upwards, the wine is in excellent condition and very enjoyable, but it needs to be given time...

Excellent, black color, red fruit nose, full-bodied, silky palate—you would never guess it's 15.5% ABV. I enjoy it much more than many Bordeaux wines!!!!!!
