Robert Parker

"Deep red in color, the 2015 Cheverny Louis de la Saussaye is a blend of Pinot Noir and Malbec with a touch of Gamay; it opens with clean, intensely fruity, yet pure and fresh aromas of red and black berries. With a silky, fresh texture and fine tannins, this is an elegant, intense, well-concentrated, and structured red wine that displays superb fruit ripeness as well as masterful winemaking. Everything is perfectly balanced, from precision to tension. The 2015 reveals not only perfect ripeness and precision, but also great finesse and a lingering finish. ” (Wine Advocate 2016 – Robert Parker)

About the estate:

Vincent Hayer, who served as the estate’s operations director for nearly 20 years, became the estate manager in 2020. The estate—a former vineyard of Château de Troussay—has been certified organic since 2012 and biodynamic since 2015. Owned by the deeply committed Chevrier family, the estate spans 30 hectares divided between Cour-Cheverny and Cheverny, featuring notably very old Sauvignon vines.

About the estate:

With the departure of Italian Laura Semeria, a new chapter is beginning at the Montcy estate. [...] A family of investors from Orléans will steer the future of this biodynamically farmed property in Cheverny. The wines presented retain an authentic richness and aroma, without any pretension. They respect the aging process and the identity of the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay for the whites; and the Pinot Noir and Gamay for the reds. Let’s observe the transition...
