"The elegance of Pinot Noir, the fruitiness of Gamay, and the aromatic notes of Côt come together in this fine bottle"

“Well-structured yet subtle, with delicate spice, supported by silky tannins and partial barrel aging that doesn’t overshadow the fruit, this ambitious red is sure to please. It is a worthy representative of the appellation, best suited for short-term aging and a fine cut of beef.”(Le Guide Hachette 2023)

About wine:

Well-structured yet subtle, with delicate spice notes, supported by silky tannins and partial barrel aging that doesn’t overpower the fruit, this ambitious red is sure to please. It is a worthy representative of the appellation, best suited for short-term aging and pairing with a fine cut of beef.

About the estate:

Vincent Hayer, who served as the estate's operations manager for nearly 20 years, became the property manager in 2020. The estate, formerly part of Château de Troussay, converted to organic farming in 2012 and biodynamic farming in 2015. Owned by the highly committed Chevrier family, the estate covers 30 hectares divided between Cour-Cheverny and Cheverny, with some very old Sauvignon vines in particular.

About the estate:

With the departure of Italian Laura Semeria, a new chapter begins at the Montcy estate. [...] a family of investors from Orléans to secure the future of this biodynamically farmed property in Cheverny. The wines presented retain their sincerity of substance and aromas, without pretension. They respect the aging and identity of Sauvignon and Chardonnay for the whites, and Pinot Noir and Gamay for the reds. Let's observe the transition...

Wine rated (2023 guide) 17/20

About wine:

A very unusual blend! But it really works. It’s bursting with juicy, fresh fruit that’s also slightly sweet. The soft, supple tannins are firm yet balanced. The wine’s herbal character carries it into a longer finish and gives it more depth than the fruit alone would suggest. It’s a trendy bar wine. I love this wine. Pair it with small plates.
