Domaine de La Roche Moreau
The Domaine de La Roche Moreau spans 28 hectares and is run by the Davy family, who have been winemakers in St Aubin for five generations. Based in a historic, listed 17th-century mansion, André and his wife Nathalie passionately craft a fine selection of wines.
An undisputed benchmark in the Anjou wine region, La Roche Moreau is renowned for its sweet wines: Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume and Quart de Chaume. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, in several successive passes, to produce wines of great finesse. After vinification, the wines intended for aging are stored in an old coal mine carved into the rock, ensuring ideal temperature and humidity conditions.
La Roche Moreau practices sustainable viticulture, with natural grass cover in full respect of the terroir, and obtained HVE certification in 2018.
