"A great sweet wine from the Davy family—a true benchmark!"

“This must-visit estate is once again at the top of the appellation and has earned a Favorite the third consecutive year. Following its 2022 Saint-Aubin, the spotlight now turns to its 1er Cru, which also consistently stands out. With notes of quince, candied apricot, acacia blossom, and honey, the 2023 vintage is a great sweet wine—vibrant and shimmering, with a long finish, full-bodied, rich, intense, and perfectly balanced between sweetness and freshness. While it offers (great) immediate pleasure, it will age beautifully over time.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

About the wine:

This must-visit estate is once again at the top of the appellation and has earned a Favorite the third consecutive year. Following its 2022 Saint-Aubin, the spotlight now turns to its Premier Cru, which also consistently stands out. With notes of quince, candied apricot, acacia blossom, and honey, the 2023 vintage is a great sweet wine—vibrant and shimmering, with a long, full-bodied, rich, and intense finish, perfectly balanced between sweetness and freshness. While it offers immediate (great) pleasure, it will age beautifully over time.

About the estate:

This 28-hectare estate, run by the Davy family for five generations, is located on the Corniche Angevine between the Loire and Layon valleys. The historic wine house is a listed building (17th century), and the cellar is housed in a disused coal mine, where the wines intended for aging are matured. A trusted name in the Anjou wine region, it is often recognized for its sweet wines, Coteaux-du-Layon, and Quarts-de-Chaume, among others.
