“A beautiful vintage that reflects its flinty terroir—fruity, fresh, and rich!”
This Sauvignon, grown on limestone soil, reveals an intense nose with a broad aromatic palette featuring floral, citrus, pear, and fresh pepper notes. On the palate, the attack is crisp and clean, with citrusy accents, followed by a mid-palate with a chalky texture that finishes with a hint of bitterness.

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))
About the estate:
Located in the village of Verdigny, this organic estate (16 hectares of Pouilly-Fumé, five hectares of Sancerre), founded in the 1960s by Raymond Tabordet, is skillfully managed by his two sons, Yvon and Pascal, who have expanded it. Today, Pascal works alongside his son Marius and his nephew Gaël. The wines are pleasing to the palate with just the right amount of complexity.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 91/100
Rated estate (2025 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the wine:
A distinctive elegance and subtle structure define Les Petites Aubues, which you can begin to enjoy starting in 2025.
About the estate:
Marius Tabordet is part of the younger generation shaking things up in Pouilly-Fumé (16 ha) and Sancerre (6 ha). He has earned the trust of his father, Pascal, and spearheaded the shift in cultivation methods toward organic farming (certified in 2021), then began the transition to biodynamic farming. Winemaking and aging practices have been adjusted to produce more expressive wines, a far cry from the narrow-minded whites still found in the region. And the entire clientele has changed! The wines thus reflect their terroir more closely. The sincerity, the meticulousness, the smooth textures, and the richness of these vintages delight us. This is evident in the delicious “domaine” vintages, both red and white. We also applaud the effort to distinguish the vintages by terroir type: in Pouilly-Fumé, Les Petites Aubues (limestone), Les Champs des Chaumes (Kimmeridgian marl), L'Autre Rive (flint); and in Sancerre, La Belle Oreille (limestone). Welcome to the guide!

About the wine:
A very mineral nose and a dry finish with a distinct brininess. Already enjoyable now, but will age well.
