"A fine reference for the appellation, a sure bet for this cuvée de garde".

This cuvée develops complex aromas of ripe, even jammy red fruit. The balance is perfect and the acidity pleasantly pronounced. The tannins are smooth, providing fullness and great length on the palate.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the domain :

The result of a long family history, Domaine Bruneau-Dupuy is now run by Sylvain. Since 2012, the vineyard has been in organic conversion. The estate covers an area of 20 hectares, protected by forest to the north. Half of the vineyard is located on south-facing slopes, covered with old vines planted on clay-limestone soils. The wines produced from these vines are full-bodied and long on the palate. The other half of the vineyard is planted in sandy soils, producing lighter, fruitier wines to be enjoyed young. At less than 15 euros, the wines offer good value for money.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 90/100

About the wine:

Fruity, juicy and crisp with notes of black cherries, blueberries and warm spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Good structure and balance with a lively mid-palate and a concentrated, textured finish. Made from organically grown grapes. For drinking or cellaring.

Vert de Vin

Vert de Vin

Rated 91/100 ( Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is reserved at first, requiring aeration. Then it offers concentration and depth: it expresses notes of juicy blackcurrant, blueberry, morello cherry, wild blackberry and wild plum, complemented by aromas of red fruit (red cherry jam, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis), as well as subtle notes of sweet spices (clove, nutmeg), a touch of toast in the background and floral notes (violet, dried rose) and herbaceous notes (dried mint). The palate is straightforward and chiselled: it offers a tangy, red-fruit side (red cherry, raspberry, strawberry, red currant), complemented by notes of black fruit (blackcurrant, morello cherry, wild plum), a fine spiciness (clove, liquorice, nutmeg) and floral notes (dried rose, violet). Melted, well-constructed tannic structure. Lively, refreshing acidity. Good persistence on the palate, with notes of blackcurrant leaf and dried mint.
