"The charm of this natural wine, a pure reflection of its clay-limestone terroir, with great depth".

Produced from ideally-situated 60-year-old vines, this "natural" wine benefits from an atypical vinification process (3 weeks of punching down at a rate of 3 per day). It is then matured in ovoid vats for 12 months. It has a lovely nose of peony, smoky notes and black fruits. The palate is equally pleasant, rich and deep, with structure thanks to silky tannins. It would be ideal with medallions of venison loin in cranberry sauce. It will reveal itself even more after some time in the cellar!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))

About the domain :

The result of a long family history, Domaine Bruneau-Dupuy is now run by Sylvain. Since 2012, the vineyard has been in organic conversion. The estate covers an area of 20 hectares, protected by forest to the north. Half of the vineyard is located on south-facing slopes, covered with old vines planted on clay-limestone soils. The wines produced from these vines are full-bodied and long on the palate. The other half of the vineyard is planted in sandy soils, producing lighter, fruitier wines to be enjoyed young. At less than 15 euros, the wines offer good value for money.

Domaine noté (guide 2025) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the wine:

A cuvée de garde aged in ovoid concrete vats, with a restrained nose of black fruit, leather and smoky notes, and a more generously fruity (blackcurrant, blackberry), energetic palate, framed for the moment by tight tannins. We'll wait.

About the domain :

Representing the third generation of winegrowers on this consistently high-quality estate, Sylvain Bruneau, who set up in 1998, has converted his vineyard of some 20 hectares to organic production.
