"This natural wine has incredible charm, a pure reflection of its clay-limestone terroir, with beautiful depth."

Made from grapes grown on vines that are around sixty years old and ideally located, this "natural" wine benefits from an unusual vinification process (three weeks of punching down the cap three times a day). It is then aged in oval vats for 12 months. It offers a lovely nose of peony, smoky notes, and black fruits. Its palate is equally pleasant, rich and deep, retaining its structure thanks to silky tannins. It will flourish with medallions of venison loin in cranberry sauce. It will reveal even more after some aging!

Winery rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, consistent with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

With a long family history, the Bruneau-Dupuy estate has now been taken over by Sylvain. Since 2012, the vineyard has been undergoing organic conversion. The estate covers an area of 20 hectares, protected to the north by the forest. Half of the estate is located on south-facing slopes, covered with old vines planted in clay-limestone soils. The wines produced from these vines are full-bodied and long on the palate. The other half of the vineyard is planted in sandy soil, which produces lighter, fruitier wines that are best enjoyed young. At less than €15, the wines offer good value for money.

Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About wine:

A vintage for aging, matured in oval concrete vats, with a restrained nose of black fruits, leather, and smoky notes, and a more generously fruity palate (blackcurrant, blackberry), energetic, currently framed by tight tannins. We wait patiently.

About the estate:

Representing the third generation of winegrowers on this consistently high-quality estate, Sylvain Bruneau, who took over in 1998, converted his 20-hectare vineyard to organic farming.
