The superb new 2009 vintage; the 2008 was rated: RVF 16/20, Bettane & Desseauve 16/20
Marcigoué’s Sancerre Réserve comes from the limestone terroirs located in the Petit Chemarin and Grand Chemarin vineyards. It offers lovely tannins, still a bit tight, but showing great potential. Don’t miss it!

Rated estate (2011 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

"This thirty-something winemaker has made a name for himself since 2000 with his red Sancerre wines, but his ambitions extend beyond Pinot Noir. His Sauvignon Blancs are also gaining in quality and finesse, expressing themselves in a rich, ripe style typical of the Bué region—particularly the Chêne Marchand area."
