"Sourced from hillside vineyards around the village of Maimbray, this is a stunning, juicy Pinot Noir made with 20% whole clusters. The fruit (raspberry and blackcurrant coulis), very lively on the nose, fills the palate with a charming, very tender, smooth yet crisp texture, interwoven with subtle tannins that blend seamlessly into the flesh. A delightfully indulgent profile that won over the jury. Why wait?” (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more conventional and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
This 14-hectare family-run estate, managed by Pascal Reverdy, is meticulously cultivated using environmentally friendly methods, though it does not claim to be organic. Among the whites, the Terre-de-Maimbray cuvée, produced from Kimmeridgian soil similar to that of Chablis, makes for a wonderful introduction. This is one of the best value-for-money wines in Sancerre.

About the wine:
Hailing from hillside plots around the village of Maimbray, this is a stunning, juicy Pinot that includes 20% whole clusters. The fruit (raspberry and blackcurrant coulis), vibrant right from the first sniff, fills the palate with a charming, very tender, smooth yet crisp mouthfeel, interwoven with subtle tannins that blend seamlessly into the flesh. A delightfully indulgent profile that won over the jury. Why wait?
About the estate:
The village of Maimbray is surrounded by steep hillsides with Kimmeridgian marl soils. Following the death of her husband Nicolas in 2007, Sophie Reverdy took over the family estate (17.8 hectares) alongside her brother-in-law Pascal. In 2019, Victorien, Pascal’s son, joined the estate, followed in 2023 by Benjamin, the youngest son.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 90/100
Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Terre de Maimbray offers a beautiful, tender, and juicy expression of Pinot Noir, highlighted by the typical firmness of Sancerre. Feel free to open it a few hours in advance to let the reductive notes mellow.
About the estate:
At their estate in Sury-En-Vaux, Pascal Reverdy and his sister-in-law Sophie produce a range of single-vineyard whites full of character, with a fruity, subtly mineral profile and smoky finishes. The 2020 vintage marks a shift toward more floral and elegant reds, the result of experiments with partial whole-cluster fermentation. The arrival of Pascal’s son, Victorien, a young winemaker, has undeniably breathed new life into the wines. Take the “A Nicolas” cuvée, for example, which has refined itself over recent vintages to become a deeper, unvarnished wine.
