Red Saumur
Established in 1936, the Saumur Rouge AOC is produced across 32 communes: 21 in Maine-et-Loire, 9 in Vienne, and 2 in Deux-Sèvres. The primary grape variety is Cabernet Franc, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and, more rarely, Pineau d'Aunis. The soils consist mainly of Tuffeau chalk, characteristic of the Saumur region. Saumur Rouge is characterized by its bright ruby-purple color, intense aromas of ripe or even stewed red fruits, and superb balance. Both supple and dense, it captivates with its lightness and finesse.
