"An intense and complex Saumur"

"The future looks bright, judging by this Favorite follows on from last year's Puy-Notre-Dame 2022. Cabernet Franc ("The Cab") at its best, with intense fruit flavors: candied fruit, plum, black fruit. Silky and round, it unfolds beautifully on the palate, full of charm and body, carried by velvety tannins. A very fine bottle to enjoy with a meal, paired with pork tenderloin with prunes or a beef steak with mushrooms, for example." (Le Guide Hachette 2026).

About wine:

The future looks bright with this Favorite follows on from last year's Puy-Notre-Dame 2022. Cabernet Franc ("The Cab") at its best, with a wine endowed with intense fruit: candied fruit, plum, black fruit. Silky and round, it unfolds beautifully on the palate, full of charm and body, carried by velvety tannins. A very fine bottle to discover at the table, paired with pork tenderloin with prunes or a beef steak with mushrooms, for example.

About the estate:

Taken over in 2023 by Jean-Louis Bernet, this estate is a sure bet in the Saumur region and a historic address in the Loire Valley, known since the 17th century. Located at the foot of the Puy-Notre-Dame tuffeau hill, on limestone soils, the 38-hectare vineyard has been certified organic since 2013 and has been managed biodynamically since 2018. The wines are aged in troglodytic cellars.
