Domaine Baumard

Domaine Baumard is located in Rochefort sur Loire. It is a family estate dating back to 1634, which Florent Baumard, the current owner, took over in 1987.

Respectful of the environment and people, Domaine Baumard has been practicing sustainable viticulture for over 50 years: alternating tillage and grass cover, high and wide vines (VHL), respect for natural balances, and prophylaxis. The VHL method allows for a "large exposed leaf area" for better ripening of the grapes, improves soil structure and restores its superior biological and agronomic potential, with the ultimate goal of preserving the terroir. The Domaine Baumard harvest is done manually in shallow crates. The Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, and Quarts de Chaume wines undergo successive sorting. The grapes are then transported in suspended trailers to best preserve their physical qualities.

Florent Baumard combines the expression of the terroir with the technical expertise passed down by his father, resulting in an explosion of aromas and a very consistent range of wines.
