Wine rated 92/100 (2020 vintage)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

President of the Montlouis appellation, Damien Delecheneau produces wines from his fifteen hectares of biodynamically cultivated vines that are a masterclass in winemaking and serve as examples for the Touraine, Touraine-Amboise, and Montlouis appellations. The wines are extremely precise and strikingly natural; priced between €15 and €30, they are excellent value for money. The reds express themselves with floral juiciness. The old vines soften the rusticity of the Côt grape variety to achieve perfect balance. The whites, with their very subtle texture, are harvested at perfect maturity and always well structured. These are full-bodied, pure wines with a mineral finish that rings true. An appealing address not to be missed. This year's favorites are the côt vieilles vignes in Amboise and the Montlouis nouveau nez...

Wine rating (2024 guide) 93/100 (2020 vintage)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

From their 15-hectare vineyard spread across Montlouis-sur-Loire, Touraine, and Touraine-Amboise, Coralie and Damien Delecheneau have become leaders in the industry. With the utmost respect for nature and their terroirs, the couple tends to their old vines using biodynamic methods (certified in 2014). Several Côt vines are even a hundred years old and produce a cuvée of remarkable depth and subtlety. In the cellar, the two oenologists skillfully and sensitively handle the healthy grapes harvested at perfect maturity. From vinification to aging in concrete vats and old barrels, everything is absolutely precise and measured, and these great, nuanced wines never veer into exuberance. When each bottle is opened, the Chenin whites reveal themselves with rare purity and delicacy, while the reds captivate with their subtlety and floral brilliance.

Very disappointed, a barn-like taste that masks the aromas!
