“Excellent, delicious, exquisite, a real treat… the reviews are rave!”

"The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc offers a distinct nose of freshly picked curry leaves, crushed shellfish, lemon zest, asphalt, mustard seeds, dried cilantro, and white-fleshed orchard fruits. This wine is powerfully fruity, full of energy and vibrancy, and, as one might expect, exquisite to drink. It is a very intelligent and flavorful wine. 13.5% alcohol, screw cap. 2024–2034” (Wine Advocate 2024) Screw cap

About the wine:

Dog Point's white wines are known for their flinty, reductive character, which can sometimes be a bit overpowering. But recently, this producer has managed to rein it in and strike the perfect balance, allowing the white peach and guava notes to shine through as well. The wine has a chalky, mineral texture, as well as a tension that suggests it has the potential to age beautifully for several years. If you drink it now, letting it breathe a bit in the glass won’t hurt.

About the wine:

It’s excellent, as always, with flinty notes, sliced lemons, and fresh green melon. A touch of Thai basil as well. Medium-bodied, with lively acidity and plenty of fruit on the finish, yet with concentration and structure. Made from organically grown grapes. Ready to drink now. Screw cap.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 94/100 (Excellent)

About the wine:

An excellent bouquet and palate featuring aromas and flavors of citrus and nettles, fresh sage and grapefruit, apple, and notes of green passion fruit and fresh lychee. The wine is dry and crisp, with a good mouthfeel, mineral notes, and freshness. A short period on the lees adds to the texture and length. Delicious, fresh, balanced, and well-made. Best enjoyed from the day of purchase through 2029.

Light straw-yellow color. Nose: boxwood, gooseberry, green apple, honey, fresh linens, floral notes, and fermenting fruit/vegetables. On the palate, a delightful attack of juicy and plump green apple, a touch of sweetness, and fine acidity that immediately brings everything into balance. Additionally, green notes, minerality, crisp freshness, body, substance, depth, and length. Beautiful, this Dog Point. Sauvignon Blanc isn’t usually really my thing, but this one fits into the now long list of exceptions…or maybe my taste is changing! Score: 17/20

Review by Mr. Gilles D. Published on September 22, 2025

A youthful Marlborough with a fresh, refined attack, followed by a mid-palate that’s just as mouth-watering, yet dense and highly expressive, with sparkling flavors evoking citrus and tropical fruits, dusted with a hint of herbaceous notes. A lovely, airy finish with mineral notes. A short period of aging would not seem out of place. Enjoyed with a salad of shrimp, pink grapefruit, and avocado, spiced with a pinch of Espelette pepper. Rating = 4.2.
