Claudia's red wine is a tribute to Portugal. This blend of Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Nacional beautifully expresses itself through notes of ripe red and black fruits. The tannins are supple and the oak is well-integrated. The fresh finish evokes the foothills of the Douro Valley. An invitation to travel!

About the wine:
The 2015 Claudia's Reserve is a blend of 42% Touriga Franca, 29% Touriga Nacional, and 29% Tinta Roriz, aged for 12 months in second-fill French oak barrels. It has an alcohol content of 14%. This year's vintage is simply delightful. Its style is reminiscent of a “summer red,” thanks to its fruity and sunny character—which reflects the vintage’s style. That said, despite its lively flavor and fresh, spicy sensation, it also possesses a certain structure, with moderately ripe tannins providing support. Add to that a silky texture, elegance, and perfect balance. It can be enjoyed right now; even if it’s a bit tight, it’s still delicious. It will be better in about a year. For me, this is the best Claudia’s Reserve I’ve ever tasted. Once this burst of savory fruit fades, will it continue to be as interesting? That question remains open. However, it’s so appealing this year that I have to focus on it for now.

A dense, tannic wine. Dark fruit. + cocoa

Dark garnet color; an intense nose of red fruit with a hint of cocoa; the oak from aging is well integrated into the full-bodied tannins on the palate. The alcohol is also quite pronounced. All of this results in a rather heavy wine, lacking much finesse on the palate.
