A blend of local grape varieties, the Claudia's white wine displays beautiful aromatic complexity right from the glass, with notes of citrus, flint, and smoke. The full-bodied and elegant palate maintains its freshness, leading to a surprisingly smooth and rounded finish. A real treat!

About the wine:

The Claudia's Branco Reserve 2015 is a blend of 40% Viosinho, 30% Gouveio, 15% Fernão Pires, and 15% Arinto, aged for six months in second-fill oak barrels. Fairly robust on the mid-palate, its greatest strength lies in its subtle combination of depth, finesse, and freshness. It integrates the oak beautifully. Smooth and round, it’s easy to drink—good on its own, but even better with a meal. It finishes with a hint of iron. The concentration is subtle—it doesn’t seem overpowering—but it’s definitely there. This Douro Branco is understated, but it hits all the right notes. It hadn’t been bottled yet at the time of the tasting, but this was the final blend.

A big disappointment—not completely bad, but for that price, it really lacks aromatic depth... The only positive for me is its nice finish.
