Wine rated (2023 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

Richly structured and full-bodied, this wine is well-balanced, with tannins that have already integrated with the black fruit. With its acidity and mineral texture, this wine has the potential to age further. Best enjoyed starting in 2026.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 17+/20

About the wine:

Very dark color with a purplish rim; no signs of color change. An explosion of black fruit aromas—blackberry and damson—but without any obvious sweetness, reflecting the Douro’s dark, rugged, and savory character. Chewy but not aggressive tannins, currently in the process of softening. If you open this wine now, you’ll need to drink it with a meal—though in fact, it will likely always be a meal wine. The Touriga shows itself not only in the color but also in a floral note. The tannins are compact and balanced, but they would benefit from another year in the bottle to fully develop. A long, finely textured finish with a fresh aftertaste accentuated by the tannins, or perhaps the other way around. 2025–2031
