Domaine Henri Milan
In 1956, Robert Milan purchased a property in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and planted vines there two years later. The entire harvest from the following years was sold, due to a lack of winemaking equipment. It was in the 1970s that Robert Milan decided to build a winery so he could make his own wines.
Twenty years after the founding of Domaine Milan, Henri Milan, Robert’s son, took over the family estate and prevented the vines from being uprooted. His journey as a winemaker was enriched by various encounters, notably with Claude Bourguignon—a researcher in soil microbiology. This marked a turning point toward converting the vineyard to organic farming.
Another milestone in the history of Domaine Henri Milan was the voluntary withdrawal from the AOC Baux de Provence to allow for greater freedom in winemaking. Since 2007, the wines have been labeled as "Vin de Table" and, starting in 2009, as "Vin de France." These are "signature" wines, with strong character and great potential!
