(2015 Vintage Notes)

The Domaine du Bagnol Cassis Rosé offers a bouquet of wild strawberries and violets, which are also evident on the palate. The fruit’s freshness and the subtle richness of its floral notes make it a truly delightful table rosé.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (A high-quality, recommendable wine that lives up to what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Purchased in 1997 by the Genovesi family and certified organic since 2014, the 17-hectare estate is located in the heart of the village of Cassis, with views of the sea and the majestic Cap Canaille. Set among southwestern-facing terraces, the vineyards benefit from a clay-limestone terroir and the influence of the sea. Today, Sébastien and his wife Lisa manage this little gem of a vineyard and, under the watchful eye of the energetic Jean-Louis Genovesi, craft flavorful and generous wines.

Rated wine (2017 guide) 14/20 (2015 vintage) (Good wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)

About the estate:

The small (215-hectare) Cassis appellation has built its reputation on its white wines made from Marsanne, Clairette, Pascal Blanc, and Ugni. Few wines truly reflect the deep Mediterranean character one expects from them. At Domaine du Bagnol, the Genovesi family is dedicated to reviving more ambitious wines and restoring the image of this magnificent vineyard. Under Sébastien’s leadership, the vineyards were converted to organic farming in 2014, and modern, precise winemaking techniques allow for the creation of clean, technically flawless wines. We are convinced that a touch more ripeness in the grapes would further enhance the saline flavors and deep body of these wines.
