About the estate:
The Lapierre family has been cultivating vineyards in the town of Coudoux since the late 18th century. In 1935, Jean Lapierre, then a Navy officer, decided to devote himself entirely to the land, which was primarily planted with olive trees. In 1952, Max Lapierre succeeded his father and began transforming the estate into a wine-growing property. In 1973, his son Yves founded Château Saint-Hilaire and became a grower-owner. The estate stretches across the stony slopes of the Coudoux hills, situated halfway between Montagne Sainte-Victoire and the Alpilles mountain range. The vineyards thrive across 55 hectares facing due south, currently in the process of converting to organic farming.

An unpretentious rosé that is round, fresh, and marked by notes of ripe red berries and citrus, with aromatic intensity that lingers through a particularly long finish, enhanced by a sustained minerality. Reasonably priced. Versatile, it was served with spaghetti with cuttlefish. Rating = 3.7.

A bold flavor. But excellent. To go with a meal? We prefer the Trop Rosé—it’s lighter—but we save it for an aperitif.
