Alpilles

Famous for their rosé wines, the vineyards of the Provence-Côte d'Azur region also offer a wide selection of equally exceptional red and white wines. The Alpilles IGP wines benefit from a Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot, sometimes very hot summers, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C. Rainfall is irregular and often takes the form of violent storms. The Mistral, a fierce wind in the region, has a beneficial influence on the vines. The IGP des Alpilles vineyards, which stretch along the coast or wind through the valleys of the hinterland, offer a superb setting with a wide variety of accents.

As in all Mediterranean vineyards,the Alpilles IGP has a varied range of grape varieties. Forthe Alpilles IGP red, these include Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Cabernet Franc, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Counoise. Forthe Alpilles IGP white wine, winegrowers mainly use Ugni-blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, and Rolle. Muscat à Petits Grains, Chasan, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon are also found. The Domaine de Trévallon stands out among the Alpilles IGP wines.
