"A warm vintage and fully ripe grapes, primarily Grenache (65%), form the backbone of this sunny red, with a light garnet hue and subtle brick-red undertones, which opens up on the nose with aromas of faded rose, macerated cherry, cinnamon biscuit, and Zan. Harmonious and well-structured, supported by fine, chalky tannins and subtle oak with a hint of cade, the palate vividly reflects the flavors detected on the nose, refreshed by a mineral touch. Perfect for game birds, starting next winter.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

Harmonious and well-structured, supported by fine, chalky tannins and subtle oak with a hint of cade, the palate vividly reflects the flavors detected on the nose, refreshed by a touch of minerality. About the wine:
Primary forest fruits and a subtle hint of meat. Lively acidity in the mid-palate, with ripe black fruits and earthy spices on the finish. A simple yet pleasant style on the palate.

About the wine:
The 2022 Cairanne is a very classic wine featuring notes of spice, limestone minerality, raspberry, and Provençal flowers, with a medium-bodied, elegant, and lovely profile and fine tannins. A blend of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah, it will be enjoyable for 5 to 7 years.

Review by Mr. Gilles D. Published on June 20, 2025
More expressive and full-bodied than the 2021 vintage, this intense 2022 red—which has retained its energy—unfolds with a dense, abundant palate, harmonized around ripe fruit with lovely smoky and spicy notes, Bordered by soft, silky tannins, it is a delightful Cairanne (much like its price) combining power, roundness, and fruit that lingers right through to the finish. Ready to drink with osso bucco and polenta, or a rack of lamb from the Alps with herbes de Provence paired with a bohemian-style eggplant dish. Rating = 4.
