A wine of moderate intensity, neither harsh nor heavy—quite the opposite, in fact, with a smooth, generous profile. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, relaxed, and balanced, with a fine, velvety texture centered around the fruit of a dominant, well-ripened Grenache that gives itself freely, framed by subtle spices and a hint of game. It has a lovely, savory finish. The wine, understated and well-crafted, is quite successful—and comes at a reasonable price to boot. While waiting for springtime BBQs, this quintessential “friends’ wine” was enjoyed with Provençal-style beef meatballs and spaghetti, where basil and Parmesan joined the party. Rating = 3.9.
