"A lot of elegance surrounding a bouquet of fresh red berries"

“Traditionally dominated by Grenache (80%) and aged gently in used barrels for 12 months, it reveals an open, luscious nose of ripe red fruits and praline brioche. Spices and leather round out this refined palette on a smooth, flavorful palate, structured by perfectly integrated oak and silky, velvety tannins. A remarkable balance that can be enjoyed without waiting too long.” (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

About the wine:

A cuvée from the Saumades district, a specific vineyard site where safre soils meet red clay soils with rounded pebbles. Traditionally dominated by Grenache (80%) and aged gently in old barrels for 12 months, it reveals an open, luscious nose of ripe red fruits and praline brioche. Spices and leather round out this refined palette on a smooth, flavorful palate, structured by perfectly integrated oak and silky, caressing tannins. A remarkable balance that can be enjoyed without waiting too long.

About the estate:

Coming from a long line of Provençal winemakers, Michel Audibert acquired the Jas des Papes estate in Courthézon in 2014. Here, he cultivates about ten hectares of organic vineyards (certification obtained in 2017) in the Saumades area, from which he produces three Châteauneuf wines—one white and two reds.

About the wine:

This very full-bodied and robust Châteauneuf offers concentrated aromas of licorice, baking spices, and wild blackberries, underscored by a wealth of velvety tannins. The wine’s boldness is well balanced by its freshness, making it appealing despite its 15% alcohol content. A long finish with a wonderful savory character and notes of raw meat. A blend of Grenache and Syrah made from organically grown grapes. Ready to drink now or for aging.
