Château de Nalys
For more than four centuries, the Domaine de Nalys has undeniably been one of the oldest estates in the Papal Lands. Located in Courthézon in the Vaucluse region, this 52-hectare estate cultivates all 13 grape varieties of the appellation, in keeping with the tradition of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Nalys estate is surrounded by three parcels; the first gave it its name: Nalys. The other two are located on two of the appellation’s major terroirs: Le Bois Sénéchal and La Crau.
The wines of Domaine de Nalys are characterized by consistent and rigorous quality. Nalys’s style, initially classic, was modernized in 1950, but has since returned to a more traditional style of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. July 2017 marked a turning point in the history of this family estate with its acquisition by the Guigal family; it is now renamed Château de Nalys. The rest of the story is still being written...
