Nalys Castle
For more than four centuries, the Nalys estate has undeniably been one of the oldest estates on papal lands. Located in Courthézon in the Vaucluse department, this 52-hectare estate cultivates the appellation’s 13 grape varieties, in keeping with the tradition of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Nalys estate is surrounded by three parcels; the first gave the estate its name—Nalys—while the other two are located on two of the appellation’s major terroirs: Le Bois Sénéchal and La Crau.

The wines of Domaine de Nalys are characterized by consistent and rigorous quality. Nalys’s style, initially classic, was modernized in 1950 but has since returned to a more traditional style characteristic of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines. July 2017 marked a turning point in the history of this family-owned estate with its acquisition by the Guigal family; it is now known as Château de Nalys. The rest of the story is still being written...
