Domaine Duseigneur - Odyssey 2019

Domaine Duseigneur - Odyssée 2019

spicy
ripe fruit
grilled meat

A wonderful introduction to the world of biodynamic winemaking. This Côtes du Rhône Villages comes from a predominantly clay-sand plot. A blend of Grenache and Syrah, it develops a sparkling nose of red fruits, spicy and with a distinct Mediterranean character on the palate. Medium-bodied and dense on the palate, it is already delicious, supported by a pleasant freshness!

Bettane & Desseauve

Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

The 30-hectare estate is divided into two parts, in the municipalities of Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres and Lirac. On the right bank of the Rhône, the terroir consists of rounded pebbles on soils that are initially clay-limestone and then sandy. Since the estate was founded, the Duseigneur family has always cultivated its land naturally, respecting the nature of the soils as much as possible, and today practices biodynamics. The different vintages all have a serious structure and are often quite closed in their youth. The estate also produces a second range under the Domaine-de-Mayran label. We note that the latest vintages have gained in finesse and texture, undoubtedly the result of their recent collaboration with oenologist Philippe Cambie.
