Domaine Gourt de Mautens
Domaine Gourt de Mautens, located in Rasteau, was founded in 1996 by Jérôme Bressy, who produced his first vintage there that year. The estate takes its name from the Provençal word “Gourt,” meaning “a place where water flows,” and “Mautens,” meaning “bad weather.”
Domaine Gourt de Mautens’ vineyards span 13 hectares of vines cultivated using organic farming methods certified since 1989 (ECOCERT) and biodynamic farming methods certified since 2008 (DEMETER). All of the plots are located exclusively in the Rasteau terroirs, spread across terraces, hillsides, and foothills, with clay-limestone marl soils, and vines ranging in age from 30 to 100 years. The old vines and the plants’ natural self-regulation result in very low yields, in the range of 10 to 15 hectoliters per hectare.
Each year, Domaine Gourt de Mautens produces between 10,000 and 20,000 bottles of wine, resulting from extended aging.
