Domaine Gourt de Mautens
The Domaine Gourt de Mautens, located in Rasteau, was created in 1996 by Jérôme Bressy, who produced his first vintage there. The Domaine Gourt de Mautens takes its name from the Provençal word "Gourt," which means "place where water comes out," and "Mautens," meaning "bad weather."
Domaine Gourt de Mautens' vineyards cover 13 hectares of vines that have been certified organic since 1989 (ECOCERT) and certified biodynamic since 2008 (DEMETER). All of the plots are located exclusively in the Rasteau terroirs, spread across terraces, hillsides, and foothills, with clay-limestone marl soils and vines ranging in age from 30 to 100 years old. The old vines and the plant's self-regulation result in very low yields, in the order of 10 to 15 hl per hectare.
Each year, Domaine Gourt de Mautens produces between 10,000 and 20,000 bottles of wine, which undergo a long aging process.
