“This red wine is a true success, with an intense color and an elegant nose of fresh fruit and violets, reflecting meticulous work in the vineyard and gentle extraction in the tank. The palate opens with notes of cherry clafoutis and reveals a full-bodied, generous texture, underscored by smooth tannins and a finish full of sweetness. A wine that evokes the pleasure of lunchtime under the arbor. ” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Posted on August 2, 2022

The proximity of Mont Chauve is evident on the palate from the very first sip: it’s warm, full-bodied (14.5%), bursting with sunshine and well-extracted fruit (plum, blackberry, cherry), with a hint of white pepper and a touch of leather, all wrapped in a soft, silky texture. In a balanced composition, what energy, what depth, which carry through to a round and smooth finish, delivering a very pleasant sensation of abundance that you’ll want to share every day. You’ll be asking for more, especially at this price, paired with grilled merguez and lamb from the butcher over the coals of the BBQ. Rating: 3.9.
