“The oldest Grenache vines”
"Family Grenache 2016 is magnificent, with a deep purple hue followed by an incredibly complex bouquet of black cherries and spiced blueberries intertwined with hints of licorice, lavender, peppery garrigue, and violet. A deep, rich, and powerful Grenache, supported by lovely freshness, ripe tannins, and a superb mineral finish. It would easily hold its own in a blind tasting against top-tier Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines.” (Jeb Dunnuck - 2020)

About the estate:
Nestled between Mont Ventoux and the charming village of Séguret, the Domaine du Mourchon spans 35 hectares, set on a mix of clay and limestone soils.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rated 91–93/100 (Excellent Wine)
Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
The full-bodied Grenache from the 2016 Réserve Familiale is another exceptional wine from Mourchon. Although likely higher in alcohol than the 2015 vintage, it shows no hint of heat, instead offering rich flavors of black cherry and plum, a full-bodied texture, and a long, firm finish. It should have an unusually long aging potential for a Grenache-based Côtes du Rhône Villages wine.
Wine Spectator
Wine rated 92/100 (Exceptional wine)
About the wine:
Ripe and full-bodied on the palate, with waves of plum and blackcurrant jam, underpinned by notes of tobacco and toasted apple wood, and revealing a hint of graphite on the finish. Solid.
Jancis Robinson
Wine rated 16.5/20
About the wine:
Deep garnet. Rich, smooth, and slightly earthy on the nose. This grape variety, though clearly picked at the very edge of ripeness, seems so much more at home here than Syrah! There are hints of strawberry jam and plenty of fruit with a garrigue-like aroma, followed by fine tannins.
