"The Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes 2022 reveals a pure and elegant bouquet of flowers, black berries, and spices, complemented by notes of licorice. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, structured and refined, it has velvety, fine tannins, with an energetic mid-palate enhanced by lively acidity, and ends with a long, ethereal and elegant finish. This magnificent Hermitage exudes energy and freshness and will benefit from being left for a while to integrate its aging. It promises to be a remarkable bottle. (Wine Advocate 2025)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2023 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
In his new facilities in the heart of Tain, Jacques Grange has a sublime, state-of-the-art facility at his disposal. He is assisted by Marco Beckmann, an Italian oenologist and fine taster. The next vintages look promising. In Hermitage, the new cuvée from the Grandes Vignes at the top of the hill reveals this little-exploited terroir.

About the estate:
Founded in 1835, owned since 1977 by Champagne Deutz (Roederer group). Under the management of Fabrice Rosset and his technical director Jacques Grange, it has 30 hectares of its own in the northern appellations, supplemented by grape purchases, with the southern range coming from the négociant-éleveur section.

About wine:
Grown from vines planted in two areas of the Hermitage hill, Les Bessards (seven hectares) and Les Grandes Vignes (two hectares and the highest vines on the hill), Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes 2022 reveals a pure and elegant bouquet of flowers, black berries, and spices, complemented by notes of licorice. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, structured and refined, it has velvety, fine tannins, with an energetic mid-palate enhanced by lively acids, and ends with a long, ethereal and elegant finish. This magnificent Hermitage exudes energy and freshness and will benefit from being left for a while to integrate its aging. It promises to be a remarkable bottle. It was aged entirely in barrels, 25% of which were new, and only the Les Grandes Vignes portion underwent fermentation with 80% whole clusters.

Rated estate (2023 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
Part of the Deutz champagne group since 1977, itself part of the Louis Roederer group, Delas is a serious wine producer. Priority has been given to vineyards with extensive mass selection planting. It cultivates 30 hectares of its own land, including 10 very well-placed hectares in Hermitage: 8 in Les Bessards and 2 in L'Ermite. The house completes its range with purchases of musts or grapes. We admit to being a little wary of the overly pronounced aging of the most prestigious cuvées, which we believe would benefit from being worked closer to the fruit and freshness. It should be noted that, since 2019, the house has had a brand new winemaking and reception facility in Tain.

Jancis Robinson
Wine rated (2023 guide) 17/20
About wine:
A very fleshy and spicy nose, with notes of scrap metal and dried earth. The palate is fairly linear, with a mixture of savory, fleshy notes and ripe black fruit. The tannins are very well controlled, fine and balanced within the structure of the wine. A fresh and appealing acidity brings liveliness and direction.
Vinous
Wine rated (2024 guide) 93/100
About wine:
Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes 2022 reveals notes of ripe red fruit, black cherry, and black plum, accompanied by vegetal nuances and a hint of black pepper. Medium-bodied, taut, and structured, this flavorful wine requires at least three more years in a cool cellar for its firm tannic core to soften.

About wine:
Complex, roasted nose with deep aromas of red fruit. A refined Hermitage, quite accessible for an appellation known for requiring long aging. Full-bodied and elegant, with subtle tannins on the palate and medium body. Then, just when you think it's a little easy, the structured and mineral finish reminds you who's boss. Mainly from the lower part of the Les Bessards hillside. Aged 100% in Burgundy oak barrels, a quarter of which are new, for 15 months. Can be drunk now, but will be at its peak from 2025 onwards.

About wine:
Notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, leather, and graphite characterize the Hermitage Domaine Des Tourettes 2022, a fragrant, complex, and classic expression of Hermitage. With medium to full body, tons of sweet fruit, ripe tannins, and a beautiful finish, let it age for a few years. Enjoy between 2026 and 2038.
