“A Syrah with floral, spicy, and juicy notes”

“A haute couture wine, this pure Syrah from schist soils, aged for nine months in oak barrels, captivates with its complex nose of ripe blackberry and clove, intertwined with notes of undergrowth that hint at the wine’s emerging character. Full of controlled power, underscored by a delicate acidity, the palate impresses with its beautiful, lively texture and distinguished oak, which releases warm notes of cocoa on the finish.” (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated wine (2025 guide): 2 stars (Outstanding wine)

Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the wine:

A truly exquisite wine, this pure Syrah from schist soils, aged for nine months in oak barrels, captivates with its complex nose of ripe blackberry and clove, intertwined with notes of forest floor that hint at the wine’s emerging character. Full of controlled power, underscored by a delicate acidity, the palate impresses with its lively texture and refined oak, which releases warm notes of cocoa on the finish.

About the estate:

After studying in Beaune, followed by experience in the United States and the Bordeaux region at his wife’s estate (Ch. Filliol), Stéphane Pichat returned to his homeland to breathe new life into this historic property, founded by his great-grandparents. Settling in 2000, he began bottling his own wines and, working with 5 hectares in Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu, has consistently produced wines of impeccable quality.
