The Collines Rhodaniennes Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) was established in 2011 to replace the Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes label, which dates back to 1981. This designation applies to red, white, and rosé wines, whether still or sparkling. TheCollinesRhodaniennesPGI appellation area covers numerous cantons in the departments of Ardèche, Drôme, Isère, Loire, and Rhône.

The soils ofthe Collines Rhodaniennes PGI are primarily granitic. Their high heat retention capacity contributes to the proper ripening of the grapes. The climate is semi-continental, with alternating Mediterranean and continental influences, as well as some oceanic influences.

Single-varietal planting is one of the distinctive features of the Collines Rhodaniennes vineyards. Red wines are primarily made from Syrah, Gamay, and Merlot. Red wines from the Collines Rhodaniennes are dense, deep, and feature pronounced mineral notes, accompanied by aromas of red fruit. The rosés are fresh, fruity, and well-balanced. As for the white wines ofthe Collines Rhodaniennes, they are primarily made from Roussanne, Marsanne, and Viognier grapes. The white wines offer a pleasant liveliness and are distinguished by their finesse.

The diversity of wines offered bythe Collines Rhodaniennes PGI is perfectly represented by the wines from the Yves Cuilleron and Michel & Stéphane Ogier wineries.
