Bettane & Desseauve

“Just before serving, it delighted us with its subtle aromatic complexity, its deep minerality, and above all its elegant bitterness. A great white wine, a must-try that truly embodies both its terroir and its region. Vegetables with truffles à la Guy Jullien will be its perfect pairing.” (The Bettane & Desseauve Guide to French Wines 2017)

Rated estate (2018 guide): 4 stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the wine:

Just before serving, it delighted us with its subtle aromatic complexity, its deep minerality, and above all, its elegant bitterness. A great white wine, a must-try that truly embodies both its terroir and its region. Vegetables with truffles à la Guy Jullien are the perfect pairing.

About the estate:

In conversation with Jérôme Bressy, a scholar and a captivating storyteller, one delights in listening to his wealth of knowledge about the traditional techniques of yesteryear—those time-honored practices that gave rise to the great wines of Vaucluse. Attuned to his terroir and the varietal diversity of his vineyards, he is a rare artisan in the wine-growing landscape. He stands out through his Vaucluse IGP wines, true reflections of the Rasteau terroir, expressions of old grape varieties treated with respect and care. In the cellar, patience and experience work alongside time to craft some of the most accomplished wines of the Southern Rhône Valley. With each vintage, he raises his standards to achieve tangible perfection. Once again, he has demonstrated this this year.
