About the estate:

Despite its name, this highly fragmented estate encompasses nearly every type of soil found within the appellation. Produced using traditional methods, Châteauneuf-du-Pape reds are crafted to reveal their character over time: at ten years old, they express themselves with grace; at twenty years old, they reach their true potential—truffle, forest floor, and fruit matured by time. The white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, spirited and distinguished, is also worthy of attention. When the vintage permits, La Cuvée du Papet—dense and deep—often reaches an exceptional level.

In addition to its vinous character and full-bodied texture, this Lirac expresses itself with a broad, lively profile and beautiful tannic richness, dominated by perfectly ripe stone fruits and abundant spice, with notes of Sichuan pepper that add a touch of freshness and temper the power characteristic of this vintage. There are slight menthol notes on the finish. Wild boar stew and charcoal-grilled duck are the perfect pairings for this cuvée with a strong personality, which will delight lovers of robust and highly expressive southern wines. Rating = 3.9.
